Assessment Guide

1
Provide the assessment information Provide the assessment information, including the evaluated ubiquitous computing environment, evaluator's name, and assessment date.
2
Choose how you want to perform the assessment Choose the format that best fits your workflow.
  • Web Version — interactive assessment with automatic progress tracking, automatic assessment summary, report generation, and the ability to save and resume your progress using backup (.json) files.
  • Printable PDF — print-ready version for offline or paper-based assessments completed manually.
  • Blank Spreadsheet (.xls) — spreadsheet version for manual completion, documentation, filtering, and later analysis.
If you use the Web Version, remember to save your progress regularly using Save Progress (.json). Whenever you want to continue an existing assessment, simply use Resume Assessment (.json).
3
Assess each recommendation Assess each recommendation according to the evaluated environment.
Select Yes (Supports Equitable Access) when the evaluated environment supports the recommendation,
No (Improvements Required) when improvements are required,
or Not Applicable (N/A) when the recommendation does not apply to the evaluated context.
Use the optional notes/observations field to record evidence, observations, or rationale that may support future improvements.
4
Review the Assessment Summary The Web Version automatically generates the Assessment Summary as recommendations are completed.
The Printable PDF and Blank Spreadsheet include spaces for manually summarizing the assessment after completion.
5
Export Assessment Results After completing the assessment in the Web Version, export the results in the format that best fits your needs.

Assessment Information

Identify the environment you are evaluating and who is conducting the assessment. This information is required and will appear in every exported report (PDF, spreadsheet, CSV, and HTML).

UbiAccess+ Assessment Areas

The 44 recommendations are distributed across the 6 areas below. Each recommendation's ID starts with its area's two-letter code, followed by a sequential number — e.g. Digital (DI) has recommendations DI01–DI02, Environment (EN) has EN01–EN13.

Assessing UbiAccess+ Recommendations

Assess each recommendation according to the evaluated environment. Select Yes (Supports Equitable Access) when the evaluated environment supports the recommendation, No (Improvements Required) when improvements are required, or Not Applicable (N/A) when the recommendation does not apply to the evaluated context. Use the optional notes/observations field to record evidence, observations, or rationale that may support future improvements and facilitate the interpretation of the assessment results. Each recommendation is identified by a two-letter area code followed by a sequential number (e.g., DI01, EN05, SP03). See the Assessment Guide above for additional guidance.

ASSESSMENT SUMMARY

Improvement Opportunities (NO Conformance)

Recommendations marked NO indicate what should be improved. Notes help explain the context and possible changes.

Recommendations Supporting Equitable Access (YES Conformance)

Recommendations marked YES indicate aspects of the scenario that already support equitable access and should be maintained.

Not Applicable in This Scenario (N/A)

Not applicable recommendations do not indicate a failure. They simply do not relate to the resources or interaction forms used in this scenario.
